Building Capacity in Ontario's Municipalities -
Brownfield Training Workshop (June 2006) Over the past month, the Province of Ontario
has held two of three training workshops in London and Burlington for
municipal staff and consultants involved with municipalities on their
brownfield projects or brownfields planning. Participants gained practical
insight into brownfield redevelopment activities in Ontario, networked
with industry leaders and experts and participated in interactive "hands-on"
scenarios. The London and Burlington workshops were very successful
and informative, with the Kingston Training Workshop wrapping up June
28 & 29. Presentation materials will be posted on the CBN website
shortly, so be sure to check back soon.
Natural City Workshop (May 31 - June 2, 2006) On June 1, 2006, Tammy's presentation discussed
many topics, including: the current state of brownfield redevelopment
in Ontario’s rural and small urban municipalities, the redevelopment
process through the Brownfield Redevelopment Toolbox for Ontario’s Municipalities
and case studies, and an outline of what rural and small urban municipalities
in Ontario need to assist them with the redevelopment process. For full
workshop details, click
